Qayen Cement Company
Qayen Cement Company, initially named “Khorasan Cement,” was established on December 10, 1981, through a joint investment by the National Iranian Industries Organization and the National Bank of Iran. After conducting technical and economic studies, the plant site was selected 10 kilometers from the Qaen-Birjand road, adjacent to limestone and alluvium mines, on a 140-hectare plot. The company’s establishment permit, numbered 31064, was issued on September 18, 1990, authorizing the production of 2,000 tons of gray cement per day. Based on the operational permit from the Ministry of Industries issued on December 26, 1994, the plant’s nominal annual capacity was set at 660,000 tons over 330 working days. The facility began production in late 1994 and, through an expansion project in 2005, increased its daily production capacity to 2,600 tons.
